Customised Training Packages - You may have a training requirement which is not addressed in the list of scheduled short courses. If so we can discuss your specific needs and develop a tailor-made training package for you, providing there is a sufficient number of trainees to make it feasible to run the course. In the event that we cannot assist directly with your training needs, we can readily signpost you to other training providers who can help, or bring in external trainers as required. Head Gardener, Beechgrove Garden, Aberdeen : A Head Gardener is required to manage this exciting and unique television garden for the Beechgrove Garden, BBC Scotland’s iconic gardening programme - in it’s 31st year. The garden area extends to 1.5 acres and includes a variety of glasshouses, polytunnels and other service facilities. Other elements include allotments, trials areas, fruit orchard and a range of themed gardens intended to represent a cross-section of domestic situations across Scotland. The appointee will be expected to work with the programme makers and the presenters through regular consultations, to satisfy the numerous and varied programme items that feature during the series run. There is one other full time employee and additional part-time help as required during the growing season, which also covers the recording season. This hands-on position requires a professional qualification and some management or supervisory experience.  A practical and extensive horticultural knowledge is essential. The position requires someone who is focussed, dynamic and innovative. The successful candidate will be a flexible and dedicated team-player, capable of working to meet strict deadlines. Apprentice Groundscare engineers: Due to rapid expansion Fairways GM (national distributor of Ransomes Jacobsen products), a market leader in grounds care equipment are looking to recruit an Apprentice Groundscare Engineers. These positions will be based at our depots in Inchinnan/Inverness/Sauchen, where you will work with our qualified engineering team. The position will include working out of the depots and on-site with engineers as required. This position will lead to a recognised National Qualification and will also include factory training and certification. As this is a position for an apprentice no previous experience is necessary although candidates will be required to demonstrate basic engineering skills and knowledge.
